Our Story
Cutty Sark is situated on the shore of the world's largest man made lake; Lake Kariba. Built in the 1960's just 10 years after the construction of the Kariba Dam wall Cutty Sark was a popular stop for a lake side holiday all throughout the 80's and 90's.
In its Peak Kariba had lots to offer to tourists and holiday makers.
with its stunning natural surroundings, abundance of wildlife and vibrant community.
In the early 2000's Zimbabwe went though many changes and Kariba took a huge hit. Many businesses including Cutty Sark were forced to close, However in 2007 Cutty Sark was bought and renovations began. Most major renovations were completed in 2022 when new management arrived to bring Cutty Sark back to its former glory.
We are continuing to renovate and develop Cutty Sark and look forward to hosting you soon.
